Watch as Reece James nets SCREAMER to grab landmark goal for Chelsea against Brighton as academy star

After Leonardo Trossard had cancelled out Jorginho’s penalty, Brighton were in the ascendancy against an underwhelming Chelsea side.

That was until James went up the other end and smacked one into the top corner with ludicrous amounts of swaz.

It was the 20-year-old’s corner which led to a fortuitous Kurt Zouma goal, creating a scoreline which was harsh on Brighton.

While debutants Timo Werner and Kai Havertz arrived within the last couple of months and cost more than £100million combined, James has been at Chelsea since he was six and cost them absolutely nothing.

Werner enjoyed an impressive first-half, using his electric pace to win the penalty which put the Blues in front, but Havertz had a quiet night.

But it paid dividends as 20-year-old James provided a moment worthy of winning any game.

Kepa Arrizabalaga will certainly be thanking his teammate for immediately taking the spotlight off more questionable goalkeeping for Trossard’s goal.

While goalkeeper Edouard Mendy looks set to arrive from Rennes in the coming days, James reminded Lampard that Chelsea’s own kids aren’t bad either.
