Tranmere vs Watford: What has been said?

Tranmere boss Micky Mellon said: “Watford are a very good side, regardless of whoever that’s going to play. At the end of the day, the 11 that they bring in, they’re 11 Premier League players.

“You don’t get that opportunity every week. You obviously know they have a lot of qualities but what you’ve got to believe is they’re human beings and on any given day, it just might be your day.

“To be able to go out and play a Premier League team at Prenton Park underneath the floodlights should be very exciting for us.

“We all know the prize [facing Man United], for us that’s massive. (For) Watford, it may not be because they’re in the same league. But for us the opportunity to be able to go and grab that, no more motivation should be needed.

“Of course, you’ve still got to go out and beat a Premier League team. You must understand that this is a Premier League team but we will go out and give it everything we’ve got because we know the size of the prize.

“But you can’t affect who you have in the next round, you’ve got a job to do in that moment. Something that you encourage a team to focus on is the now.”
