Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has been lending a helping hand to the Enfield community while the football season is suspended across the country.
The coronavirus pandemic has seen the Premier League and EFL suspended until at least April 30 but with no guarantees it will resume on that date.
Mourinho has been using his time to volunteer so the elderly people have got all the items they need while they stay indoors.
Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge tweeted: “My place of birth, Enfield had an extra helper for @age_uk today. Delivering essential goods for the elderly. Nice one, Jose #THFC.”
Love Your DoorStep tweeted: “Thanks so much to @josemourinhotv for coming to help us today in #Enfield @ageuklondon to support our appeal and work for the community.”
The government urged all people over the age of 70, and those with certain health conditions, to stay inside to protect themselves from Covid-19.
On Monday evening, Boris Johnson announced further measures where everybody in the UK will only be allowed to leave home for limited purposes and gatherings of more than two people in public will be banned.
