Manchester City secured their second successive 5-0 win as they thumped Brighton at the Amex on Saturday evening.
City went 1-0 ahead in the 21st minute through Raheem Sterling.
The England international curled into the bottom right corner from the edge of the box after the ball was nodded back to him by Gabriel Jesus following Riyad Mahrez’s pass forward.
The visitors doubled their advantage to 2-0 two minutes before the break.
De Bruyne’s outswinging corner from the right was helped on by Rodri, allowing Gabriel Jesus a simple tap-in at the back post.
Brazilian Jesus had earlier clipped the crossbar with a powerful drive which deflected off Lewis Dunk.
Sterling claimed his second to make it 3-0 to City in the 53rd minute.
Moments after De Bruyne had rattled the left post with a thunderous free-kick, Sterling headed in a delightful cross from Mahrez.
It was 4-0 minutes later when Bernardo Silva finished on the rebound after Brighton goalkeeper Mathew Ryan failed to hold his initial effort.
Sterling completed his hat-trick with 10 minutes to go to make it 5-0.
The England attacker latched onto a long ball forward before an attempted block from Adam Webster saw it loop up into the air.
Sterling hit the deck and, as it fell down, the ball struck him on the head before rolling into the net.
