Hugo Lloris has made a dramatic return to the Tottenham starting XI just days after Jose Mourinho ruled him out until February.
The Spurs captain has been on the sidelines since suffering a serious elbow injury against Brighton in October.
Last Friday, Mourinho insisted the Frenchman would not return until February at the earliest.
He said: “I told [you] one month ago, I said February. So the normal thing is February. If you ask me late February or early February, at this moment I go more for early.
“Things are going well. He’s getting his confidence back, he’s training so I would say he’s one of our new players in the January transfer window.”
Spurs take on Norwich at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday night searching for their first win in four Premier League matches.
Christian Eriksen remains on the bench with his move to Inter Milan seemingly imminent, while new signing Gedson Fernandes is also among the substitutes as he waits for his first start.
Gedson Fernandes is Mourinho’s version of Harry Winks, says Adrian Durham
