Mikerline Saint Felix and Nerilia Mondesir each scored a brace to lead Haiti over Panama 6-0 in their Group A finale of the 2020 Concacaf Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship on Monday night at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas.
It was all Haiti to start and inside the first five minutes they broke the deadlock when Mondesir coolly converted a penalty kick for a 1-0 lead.
That is when the Saint Felix show started, as she doubled the Haiti lead 2-0 by sweeping a shot into an open net in the 11’ off a cross from Melchie Dumornay.
Saint Felix was inches from scoring Haiti’s third in the 16’ with a right-footed shot that hit the post. Not to be denied, the Haiti FW would increase the advantage to 3-0 with a sensational left-footed strike in the 29’.
Haiti carried that momentum into the second half and the 16-year-old Dumornay extended the lead to 4-0 with a sizzling right-footed shot in the 47’.
It was then 5-0 to Haiti in the 59’ when Batcheba Louis calmly rounded Panama GK Sasha Fabregas for the score.
Mondesir then got her second goal of the night in the 84’ to cap off the 6-0 scoreline.
